Land Acknowledgement

We live on stolen land. The Greater Boston Area includes unceded Agawam, Massachusett, Naumkeag, Nipmuck, & Wampanoag lands. We recognize the history of genocide and continued violations of body, territory, sovereignty, and water that have been enacted on the original inhabitants of this land. We commit and continually recommit to honor and respect the citizens of these nations who continue to steward this land, and we extend that honor and respect to all indigenous peoples and their ancestors. We affirm that this acknowledgement is not a replacement for the actual learning, connection, reparations and healing that are needed in order to address the history and current reality of colonialism.
